WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Understand how to reduce your power bills.
Listen to speakers that demystify:
The EV transition - Stephanie Holmes will share her learnings on driving and buying an electric vehicle, explaining her journey in transitioning towards an EV, including how to charge, where to charge, as well as her first country trip where she had to overcome her range anxiety!
Induction cooktop cooking - Betty Velosky will speak about how to electrify your kitchen (getting off the gas). Betty will explain her journey towards an induction cooktop and how she has found cooking with induction.
Solar rooftop panels & a home battery - Nicola Saxton will discuss her journey towards rooftop solar as well as a home battery for storing the energy provided by the sun, she then uses for free in her home at nighttime. She will explain what living on energy from the sun is like.
Converting hot water systems to a heat pump - Deborah Guion will speak about her journey of converting her old hot water system to a heat pump, what this meant for her hot water costs, as well as electricity bill. She will demystify how a 100-year-old hot water coil system has become so outdated and expensive compared to the new generation heat pump technology.
How to cut your power bills - Barbara Buchanan explains how to save on your electricity bill. She will speak about how she has drastically decreased her electricity bill by using several tricks, eg when she uses appliances and how she uses her electricity
Q&A follows each speaker - this will be a High Tea format and questions about all things electrical including charging, savings, finding out how it all works, in plain language is what we hope to deliver.
Talk to women home owners and get their insights, while we serve up a scrumptious High Tea.

Household Energy Efficiency.
Do you cook with gas and wonder if there might be a cleaner, equally convenient option? Did you know that installing LED lighting can significantly reduce your electricity bill? Could changing the way you heat or cool your house reduce your fossil fuel use or create a healthier atmosphere in your living room? These and other questions will be discussed in this meeting about running our houses more efficiently.
Conversations about Electrification.
At the beginning of the Electrify Bundeena project we flagged the possibility of providing free home consultations for residents interested in electrifying their homes. Unfortunately, we simply haven't had the resources to do those home visits, so we're now inviting you to visit us! Members of the Electrify Bundeena steering committee will provide “tea and biscuits” in an informal setting in which to engage in conversations about any/all aspects of electrification. This is a great opportunity to chat with experts, hear first hand from other Bundeena residents who are already on the path to full electrification, and ask questions about which options might work best for you.

We’ve compiled this interactive Google Calendar so you can see our events and other relevant renewable, environment and electrification events that are happening. Use the drop down in the top right of the calendar to filter the events.
An Electrification Success Story for the Winner of the Heat Pump Auction
Deb Guion, a Bundeena resident, is the proud winner of our recent Apricus Heat Pump Auction. For Ms Guion, getting a Heat Pump was just a natural progression towards having more control over the cost of the energy she uses and achieving a more sustainable lifestyle.
