An Electrification Success Story for the Winner of the Heat Pump Auction

Deb Guion, a Bundeena resident, is the proud winner of our recent Apricus Heat Pump Auction. For Ms Guion, getting a Heat Pump was just a natural progression towards having more control over the cost of the energy she uses and achieving a more sustainable lifestyle.

Upcoming events

After running a series of highly successful community events in 2023 (see below), we are currently planning some exciting new events for 2024, including information sessions on solar panels, home batteries, electric vehicles and home energy efficiency.

Keep an eye on our event calendar, or sign up to our mailing list to be notified of upcoming events and the latest project news.

In the Pipeline for 2024

May: (date to be decided) Conversations about Electrification.

At the beginning of the Electrify Bundeena project we flagged the possibility of providing free home consultations for residents interested in electrifying their homes. Unfortunately, we simply haven't had the resources to do those home visits, so we're now inviting you to visit us! Members of the Electrify Bundeena steering committee will provide “tea and biscuits” in an informal setting in which to engage in conversations about any/all aspects of electrification. This is a great opportunity to chat with experts, hear first hand from other Bundeena residents who are already on the path to full electrification, and ask questions about which options might work best for you.

June: (date to be decided) Women and Renewables.

This session aims to provide a supportive forum for those who would like to know more about the world of renewables without having to grapple with graphs, bar charts, kWhs or the language of Inverters. Women who have questions that might best be asked in a safe, non-threatening environment are encouraged to attend. This is an event for women, run by women.

Later in the year: Household Energy Efficiency.

Do you cook with gas and wonder if there might be a cleaner, equally convenient option? Did you know that installing LED lighting can significantly reduce your electricity bill? Could changing the way you heat or cool your house reduce your fossil fuel use or create a healthier atmosphere in your living room? These and other questions will be discussed in this meeting about running our houses more efficiently.
